Central Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps (also called split systems) are comprised of two sections. The outdoor section, the air conditioner or heat pump is matched with the indoor section, an air handler or indoor coil. The indoor coil is typically located on top of the furnace.
Each Westinghouse air conditioner and heat pump is checked approximately 144 times during the manufacturing process, then run-tested to check operation performance. In the final analysis, computer-automated testing is performed to capture operation data. Westinghouse air conditioners and heat pumps are built with proven components to provide safe, clean and reliable comfort year-round.
